Death to Radio? The Conversation Continues.
Marketing Playbook's blog has a very good 2 part interview with Mark Ramsey (Radio Marketing Nexus) entitled Radio as a Medium - Personalization vs. Simplicity/Cost?.
Mark brings up what I believe is the Tipping Point for radio, when he says, 'The challenge is: How do you make Radio cool again?'.
One way is when radio goes full digital.
Imagine TiVo for radio. What if you could "Wish List" your favorite programs?! CD quality sound. Integrate this with GPRS in the car via cell phone (Full city WiFi???) and you have revenue sharing opportunities for radio stations, cell networks and the companies that offer the products.

glad you liked it. we had fun doing it. really think both the tivo for radio and some kind of merge of iPod with radio programming would be cool. cause programming is important. its not just a zillion tracks, its cool new stuff that i wouldnt otherwise hear.
